The Malaysian forest company Lingui Developments Berhad has been excluded from the Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global on the grounds of illegal logging and severe environmental damage. The Council on Ethics has assessed the company’s operations in Sarawak (Malaysia). Lingui is a subsidiary of Samling Global Ltd., which was excluded from SPU in 2010.

Lingui Developments Berhad was delisted in 2012. As the company was no longer investable for the Fund, it was removed from the list of excluded companies. The Council has not reassessed Lingui Developments’ activities after that point in time.
